Science

From DESY to the Science City – research as a bridge between Hamburg and the USA.

Science

Research Location Hamburg

Hamburg wants to create a science city around its most important particle-accelerator research facility, the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY). DESY researches not only the fundamental structure of molecules but also alternative energy supply – for example with hydrogen.

In addition, the city plans to transform the current DESY campus into a “Science City” by 2040, with its own transport infrastructure and housing, which will also be a potential driver of innovation and technology. These projects could form the basis for joint cooperation, trade and investment, and exchange.
