Who We Are
The Amerikazentrum Hamburg is a binational cultural institute that promotes German-American educational and cultural exchange through its work.
It is supported by the non-profit association Amerikazentrum Hamburg e. V., founded in 1997 after the closure of the tradition-steeped Amerika-Haus. The association receives support from the U.S. Embassy and the Federal Foreign Office.
Our Activities
Our activities focus on cultural events such as lectures and discussions on current political and social topics of the transatlantic dialogue. Many of these events – held at changing venues since the closure of our long-standing Hamburg location at Am Sandtorkai – take place in close cooperation with other cultural institutions, the U.S. Consulate General Hamburg, or the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.
