The Digital Lending Platform for Our Members
In cooperation with the U.S. Embassy Berlin, we offer our members free access to ebooksUSA, a lending platform for eBooks, audiobooks, and magazines.
Are you already a member of the Amerikazentrum but don't have an account yet? Send us an email with your name, membership number, email address, and date of birth (day and month) to info@amerikazentrum.org.
Not a member of the Amerikazentrum yet but interested in using ebooksUSA? Please complete your membership application here, include your date of birth (day and month), and let us know that you would like to use ebooksUSA.
How ebooksUSA Works
Login
On the lending platform, select “Hamburg – Amerikazentrum” as your library and log in with your email address and PIN.
Selection
Novels, non-fiction, audiobooks and magazines such as The New Yorker or Vanity Fair – readable in the browser or on an e-reader (Kindle, Tolino). New: Libby, the successor to OverDrive.
Borrowing
Up to 6 items at a time, 14 days by default (extendable to 21 days). Returns are automatic.
Reservations
Titles already on loan (up to 5 at a time) can be reserved. When a title becomes available, you have 72 hours to borrow it.
Recommendations
If a title is missing, recommend it via the platform or by email (subject “ebooksUSA recommendations”) at the end of the quarter to info@amerikazentrum.org.
