About Us
We promote German-American dialogue through culture and education.
About the Amerikazentrum
The Amerikazentrum Hamburg is a binational cultural institute that supports German-American educational and cultural exchange through its work.
It is run by the non-profit association Amerikazentrum Hamburg e. V., which was founded after the closure of the traditional Amerika-Haus in 1997.
The association receives support from the U.S. Embassy and the German Federal Foreign Office.
Our activities focus on cultural events such as lectures and discussions on current political and social topics in the transatlantic dialogue. Many of these events, which have been held at various locations since the closure of our long-standing Hamburg venue at Sandtorkai, are organized in close cooperation with other cultural institutions, the U.S. Consulate in Hamburg, and the U.S. Embassy in Berlin.
