The Patriot (2000) – Film Screening

As part of the America 250 event series marking the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, we invite you to a screening of The Patriot (2000). The film offers an insight into the founding period of the United States.

The Patriot is a historical drama dealing with the American War of Independence. Set in the late 18th century, it follows a family man, played by Mel Gibson, who becomes caught up in the events surrounding the struggle for independence.

The film interweaves personal stories with pivotal moments of the revolutionary era and explores themes such as conflict, loyalty and political upheaval. The Patriot offers an accessible, if dramatised, portrayal of this historical period.
